Linda L. Helms has joined the firm, where she is a member of the litigation practice. Helms focuses on professional liability and healthcare-related litigation. She has represented physicians, medical practices and other professionals in complex matters, such as medical malpractice and wrongful death claims. Helms has served as a seasoned trial attorney and as counsel in cases that resulted in defense verdicts. She is a fellow with the American College of Trial Lawyers. She received her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from High Point University.

Taylor Gibbs has joined the firm as an associate attorney and is a part of the Creditors’ Rights practice group. Gibbs is based in the Charlotte office. She focuses on consumer collections and represents financial institutions, lenders and businesses. She has represented lenders, creditors, financial institutions, landlords and property management companies. She has represented clients in over 40 counties in North Carolina, and she has experience appearing before magistrates, district and superior courts and Clerks of Superior Court. She earned her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law and her bachelor’s degree in political science, magna cum laude, from Appalachian State University.

Cynthia Dixon has joined the firm’s Raleigh office as an associate attorney, and she will practice in the Creditors’ Rights practice group. Dixon focuses on foreclosure matters. She represents mortgage lenders, loan servicers and financial institutions throughout the foreclosure process. Dixon has close to ten years of legal and leadership experience with a credit union in North Carolina. There, she served as vice president of litigation and assisted in creating the organization’s first in-house litigation department. She received her law degree magna cum laude from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2016 and her bachelor’s degree from Mount Olive College in 2013.

Brianne C. Habit has joined Young Moore as an associate attorney. She is a part of the health care litigation team and focuses on the long-term care sector. She focuses on healthcare, professional liability and general liability. She represents healthcare providers, hospitals, long-term care facilities and other professionals in complex civil litigation and administrative proceedings. She also assists physicians, nurses and mental health professionals subpoenaed to testify in matters where they are not a named defendant. Habit is licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina. She received her law degree from Campbell Law School and her bachelor’s degree from Randolph-Macon College.

Maginnis Howard has announced that their office in Fayetteville will be relocating to 200 Dick St, Suite A as of August 1. The firm, which serves clients in personal injury and consumer protection matters, said that the new location will provide clients with a more accessible space to meet with the legal team. Paul Cox has been named as a member of the Keep Our Republic North Carolina Advisory Council. Keep Our Republic is a nonpartisan civic education organization dedicated to strengthening confidence in elections, the rule of law and constitutional checks and balances. Cox, a partner at Poyner Spruill LLP, focuses on government-related matters, campaigns and elections, litigation and appeals. He previously served as general counsel to the North Carolina State Board of Elections and as a special deputy attorney general with the North Carolina Department of Justice. He holds a law degree from UC Berkeley School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina.

David Daggett, managing partner of Daggett Shuler in Winston-Salem, has been appointed as the chair for the Greater Triad Board of the American Heart Association. In this role, Daggett will assist in directing efforts that will benefit communities in the region, including amplifying CPR training, supporting maternal health programs and strengthening nutrition security. In 2022, Daggett’s son received lifesaving open-heart surgery. That experience furthered Daggett’s commitment to providing families access to research, education and care. Daggett, who has practiced personal injury law for 41 years, is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law and Indiana State University.

NCBA member Connor Fraley has been appointed as a 2026-2027 Supreme Court Fellow. Fraley is one of four individuals selected by the Supreme Court Fellows Commission to serve as Fellows. Fraley and the other three individuals will each serve a one-year term beginning in September 2026. As a fellow, Fraley is assigned to the Administrative Office of the United States Courts. He previously served as a clerk for Judge Allison Jones Rushing with the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He holds a law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, and a bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude and with honors, from North Carolina State University.
