Payne Joins Bradley Arant Boult Cummings

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP has announced that 24 attorneys have joined the firm’s offices, including Lissette C. Payne, who has joined the Charlotte office as an attorney in the Banking and Financial Services Practice Group. She is designated as a Certified Information Privacy Professional by the International Association of Privacy Professionals, with U.S. Private Sector (CIPP/US) and European (CIPP/E) concentrations. Payne received her B.A. in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

New Firm, Harkey Litigation, Opens in Winston-Salem

Scott Harkey established Harkey Litigation, located in Winston-Salem. Harkey was the Senior Financial Crimes Prosecutor for the the North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys. He specializes in white collar defense, investigations, and complex civil litigation. A Board Certified Specialist in North Carolina Criminal Law, Harkey is a member of the North Carolina Bar Foundation Civic Education and Engagement Committee. He holds a B.A. from North Carolina State University and a J.D. from Campbell Law School.

Alexandria Tuttle Joins The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin

The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin announced that Alexandria Tuttle is now an associate attorney with the personal injury department. Tuttle obtained a B.A. in political science from North Carolina State University and a J.D. from North Carolina Central University School of Law. During law school, Tuttle worked full-time as a paralegal with The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin. As an attorney with the firm, she serves on the Social Services Committee to help local non-profits.

Carri Preble Joins Parker Poe

Carri Preble has joined Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP and will practice in the firm’s office in Raleigh. Preble’s practice area is business-oriented, and she has experience in the telecommunications and real estate industries. She has advised wireless service providers, assisted landlords and tower owners with amending infrastructure agreements, and worked on mergers and acquisitions in the telecom industry. She received a B.S. from the University of Connecticut and a J.D. from St. John’s University.

Smith Anderson Announces New Partners, Associates

Ansley Chapman Cella has joined the firm as a partner, and she will practice in the trusts and estates group. She has more than 20 years of experience assisting business owners and individuals with estate planning matters. She advises on wealth transfers, business succession, asset protection and charitable planning. She received her B.A. in history from Clemson University, a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and a Master of Laws from the University of Miami School of Law, which provided her specialized legal training in estate planning.

Victoria “Tory” Hartmann has joined the firm as an associate attorney. She is a corporate attorney whose practice areas include life sciences, mergers and acquisitions, and technology transactions. She has experience in the biotechnology sector. Hartmann graduated from Brown University with an A.B., magna cum laude, and she received her J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Olivia N. Jamrog has joined the firm as an associate attorney. She will assist clients with commercial financing and represent borrowers and lenders. She has previous experience serving as an intake coordinator for Justice for Military Families. She received a B.A. with high honors from Michigan State University, where she majored in philosophy and psychology, and an L.L.B. from the University of Cambridge.

Tricia McNeill has joined the firm’s finance group as an associate attorney. McNeill has experience in commercial lending and corporate finance. Her practice areas include corporate and syndicated finance, mergers and acquisitions, mezzanine finance and private equity. McNeill serves as president of the Hispanic National Bar Association’s North Carolina and South Carolina region. She obtained a B.S. in biology from Western Carolina University, an M.A. in teaching from Western Carolina University, and a J.D. from North Carolina Central University School of Law.

Ashley Morgan will work in the firm’s trusts and estates, start-up, and real estate development practices as an associate attorney. She will focus on business transactions and tax. Morgan has previous experience in tax and transactional law. She received a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a J.D. from the University of Tennessee School of Law and a Master of Laws from the University of Alabama in tax.

Philip Romohr has joined the firm’s finance group as an associate attorney. He represents banks and other financial institutions in matters of banking and regulation, financial transactions, and general issues in commercial and corporate law. His practice areas are corporate syndicated finance and venture debt and technology finance. He obtained a B.S.B.A. in economics with highest distinction from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and a J.D. from Duke University School of Law.

Christine Walchuk has joined the firm as a partner in the intellectual property and technology transactions practice groups. Walchuk is a life sciences licensing and technology transactions attorney. She has more than ten years of experience practicing law in the life sciences sector, as well as the technology sector. Walchuk received a B.A. in biology with highest honors from the University of Montana and a J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law.

Willson Jones Carter & Baxley (WJCB) Welcomes Christopher J. Culp

Willson Jones Carter & Baxley (WJCB) announced that Christopher J. Culp has joined the firm’s Charlotte office. Culp focuses his practice in liability litigation defense. He has litigation experience in both state and federal courts and has tried cases involving personal injury, product liability, professional liability and construction defects. He graduated from Davidson College with an A.B. and from the University of North Carolina School of Law with a J.D.

Wilson Elser Opens Offices in Raleigh, Charlotte

The firm has opened two new offices, one in Raleigh, and a second in Charlotte. Both offices will offer services in a number of areas, including reinsurance coverage and defense, commercial litigation, aviation law and finance.

Kathryn Grace, national aviation practice co-chair with the firm, will serve as the supervising attorney in the Charlotte location. Grace has a civil practice in complex litigation, with a focus on aviation and aerospace; general liability and professional liability; insurance coverage; and trucking, transportation and cargo. Grace graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.B.A., magna cum laude, and from George Mason University School of Law with a J.D.

Jamie Winokur, a senior associate, will join Grace in Charlotte. Winokur practices in complex litigation with a focus on professional liability and general liability. She received a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law.

Of counsel attorney Erik Tomberg will lead the office in Raleigh. Erik is a commercial litigator, an insurance coverage attorney, and an appellate advocate. Erik represents insurers in federal and state court litigation and is lead appellate counsel in cases across the U.S. He graduated from Williams College with a B.A. and from Northeastern University School of Law with a J.D.

David Williams, a senior associate, will join Erik in the Raleigh office. Williams is a litigator in civil matters and focuses on construction, product liability, premises liability, and trucking and transportation law. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.A. and from the University of Tennessee College of Law with a J.D.
