Sarah Clark has joined Skufca Law, PLLC located in South End Charlotte. Sarah joins the family law team at Skufca Law focusing her practice on child custody, child support, post-separation support/alimony, and equitable distribution matters. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and a Juris Doctorate from Campbell Law School.

 

Brian Lagesse has joined the Durham office of NC Eminent Domain Law Firm. His area of practice is eminent domain law. Before practicing in this area, he represented clients in matters of complex real estate as the leader of another firm’s N.C. Title Resolution Department. He received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Baylor University, and prior to attending law school, he worked for a Department of Defense aerospace contractor as a project manager. Lagesse holds a Juris Doctorate from Regent University School of Law and a Master of Laws from Duke University School of Law.

Bobby Robinson has joined the Charlotte office of Nexsen Pruet, and he practices in corporate and intellectual property law. Other areas of expertise include business disputes, corporate law, real estate law, start-ups, and mergers and acquisitions. Robinson has experience assisting clients in matters of business transactions and corporate contracts. Before Nexsen Pruet, he founded a boutique law firm and a legal technology company. Bobby earned a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Charlotte School of Law. He also holds a Master of Public Administration, magna cum laude, from Columbia Southern University, and a Master of Business Administration/Finance, cum laude, from Everest University.

McAngus Goudelock & Courie Announces New Lawyers in Their Raleigh and Charlotte Offices

Jonathan Martin is a litigator whose practice areas include bad faith, construction, general litigation, and premises liability. He also has prior experience assisting clients in Raleigh in matters of estate planning, personal injury, and insurance defense. Martin graduated from Campbell Law School with a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, and he holds a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Campbell University.

 

Lisa Taylor focuses her practice in general litigation. Before joining McAngus Goudelock & Courie, Taylor served as a federal law clerk in New York and North Carolina. While working in labor and employment law in Raleigh, she has represented clients in issues of corporate immigration. Taylor earned a Juris Doctorate at the University of North Carolina School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts at UNC Chapel Hill.

Zachary Walton has joined the firm’s Charlotte office. His area of practice is litigation, and he has experience working in personal injury law in Charlotte. Walton is a volunteer attorney with the West Virginia Innocence Project. He obtained a Juris Doctorate from West Virginia University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from West Virginia University.

 

The Winston-Salem Office of Akerman LLP Welcomes Three Tax and Litigation Lawyers

Robert Wall has joined Akerman LLP as partner. Wall’s area of practice is strategic tax planning. He assists clients with a number of issues related to federal and state income tax laws, including audits, compliance, and collections. As a member of the NCBA, he has served as the CLE Committee chair for the Tax Section. In 2016, Wall was recognized as the CLE Volunteer of the Year by the NCBA. Wall is a graduate of Wake Forest University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts. He obtained a Juris Doctorate at the University of Alabama School of Law and a Master of Laws in Taxation at the University of Denver Graduate Tax Program.

Bryan Scott is now a partner Akerman LLP. His practice areas include commercial litigation, construction, the rights of creditors and intellectual property litigation. Scott has experience in commercial, contract, and shareholder disputes. He has also litigated in matters of unfair trade practices and intellectual property infringement. As a practitioner in construction law, he assists in an array of issues, from contracts, bids and operations to disputes, claims and licenses. Scott serves as the NCBA Construction Law Section chair. Scott obtained a Juris Doctorate at Wake Forest University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, at Appalachian State University.

Steven Hemric has joined Akerman LLP as an associate. Hemric is a litigator, and his practice areas are commercial disputes, construction litigation and dispute resolution. He provides counsel to clients in the construction industry, specifically regarding commercial and residential construction. Handling different types of claims and advising insurance carriers are other areas of expertise. Hemric earned a Juris Doctorate at Wake Forest University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, at Wake Forest University.

Fox Rothschild’s Raleigh Office Welcomes Two New Partners

A corporate attorney, Deana A. Labriola works with statewide and national middle market companies. She aids in matters of corporate, organizational, and transactional concerns, and has expertise in mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing. Before becoming a partner at Fox Rothschild, Labriola led the Technology Practice team at Ward and Smith’s Raleigh office. She has served on the Board of Advisors for the Durham YMCA. Labriola obtained a Juris Doctorate from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, a Master of Arts from the Catholic University of America, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Indianapolis.

Jeremy R. Sayre practices in labor and employment law. He represents companies who have encountered issues that include wrongful discharge, discrimination, retaliation and harassment, as well as other tort claims. A litigator for a range of employment-related issues, he provides counsel on covenant matters, details of hires and terminations, and other employment concerns. Prior to his role as partner with Fox Rothschild, Sayre practiced in Employment Law at a North Carolina regional law firm. Sayre holds a Juris Doctorate from the Ohio State University College of Law and a Bachelor of Science from John Carroll University.
