Fox Rothschild Selects New Partner
Troy D. Shelton has been named a partner with the firm. He practices in the Litigation Department in the firm’s Raleigh office. Shelton has both trial and appellate experience. He has litigated cases in the areas of class actions, antitrust, employment disputes, land use and family law. He is a class action consultant to attorneys within the firm as well as outside it. After earning his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of North Carolina School of Law, Shelton served as a Guardian ad Litem, and following that role, as an appellate attorney. He also holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Duke University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Two Attorneys Join Hall Booth Smith
Megan McGee Stacy has joined the firm’s Charlotte office of counsel. Her practice is focused on commercial contracts and business torts, construction, general liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, products liability, professional liability, and transportation matters. She has prior experience in commercial litigation law. She earned a J.D., summa cum laude, from the Charlotte School of Law. She also holds a B.A. in history, with honors, from High Point University.
Laura Gregory has also joined the Charlotte office. She focuses on general liability, medical malpractice, labor and employment, and workers’ compensation law. Gregory serves with the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys and the Junior League of Charlotte, and she is a mentor with the Carolina Youth Coalition. Before joining the firm, she practiced workers’ compensation law. She holds a J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law and a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Hedrick Gardner Relocates to Rotunda Building
Hedrick Gardner recently announced that the firm has moved to a new location in Charlotte. The new office is located at 4201 Congress Street, in Suite 300 within the Rotunda Building. Hedrick Gardner’s other offices are in Asheville, Raleigh, Wilmington, and Columbia, S.C.
Jackson Law Names New Managing Attorney
Erin Auld was promoted to Managing Attorney with the firm. Auld has practiced with the firm for close to three years and led the Title Department. She has prior experience in litigation, contract disputes and leadership. Auld received her J.D. from Campbell Law School, where she was a part of the National Trial Advocacy Team and the North Carolina Client Counseling Competition. She is the recipient of the Dean’s Academic Achievement Award. Auld holds an undergraduate degree in political science with a minor in communications from Bridgewater College.
McAngus Goudelock & Courie Adds Attorneys to Asheville and Wilmington Offices
Jordan Leslie has joined the firm’s Asheville office. Leslie focuses her practice on insurance coverage and litigation. She has experience in insurance defense, insurance recovery and in-house claims. Leslie earned a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School, and a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Chamberlain Collier is now an attorney in the Wilmington office. She focuses her practice on commercial law, construction law and general litigation. Collier earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Campbell Law School and currently serves as coach of the Campbell Law Mock Trial Team. Prior to law school, she participated in Teach for America as an Eastern North Carolina Corps member. Collier taught public school in Kinston for two years. She also holds an M.A. from East Carolina University and a B.A. from North Carolina State University.
Smith Anderson Welcomes New Associates
Cherell Harris is now an attorney with the firm. She focuses her practice on technology transactions, intellectual property and life sciences. Harris has extensive expertise in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Before joining the firm, Harris served as the Associate Director of Network Strategy at the Durham Human Vaccine Institute. She holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from North Carolina Central University School of Law, an M.S. in engineering, cum laude, from North Carolina A&T State University, and a B.S. in chemistry, cum laude, from Spelman College.
Elizabeth “Melissa” Schluter has also joined the firm, and she practices in the real estate group. Schluter has prior experience in international law and real estate law and has previously focused on representing commercial mortgage-backed securities lenders, mortgage loan servicers, and Freddie Mac loan servicers. She earned a J.D. with high honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law and a B.A. with highest distinction from UNC, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
