Upcoming Events

By Alan Parry

Dear Members of the Litigation Section:
Our year is off to a great start, with enjoyable networking events in August (Chapel Hill) and September (Raleigh) that gave Section members an opportunity to catch up and socialize with other litigators, judges, and court staff. We plan to sponsor similar events in communities around the state and will keep you posted on upcoming opportunities for fun, fellowship, and CLE from the Litigation Section.

Next up, we will be back in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro area on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, to host a casual evening social for our Superior Court Judges, who will be in town for the 2019 North Carolina Superior Court Judges’ Conference. Our social event will be at Vecino Brewing, located at 300 E. Main St. in Carrboro, and all Section members, judges, and significant others are invited. Please RSVP here to let us know you’re coming, and we look forward to seeing you there!

In November, we have two exciting events planned. First, on Nov. 1, 2019, we will head to Asheville for our next Litigation Section Council meeting, after which we hope to see many of our Buncombe County colleagues at a networking social to be held at Pillar Rooftop Bar & Kitchen at the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 309 College St. in Asheville, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Then, on Nov. 17, 2019, we’ll be hosting a really special event for Section members and their families as we all converge on Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte to watch the Panthers play the Falcons! We have sold out of the event! We look forward to seeing the 52 Litigation Section members who are going to the game!

There will be much more to come as Section Council members host a variety of smaller events for members around the state, so stay tuned! In the meantime, if you haven’t renewed your Section membership, please do so before Nov. 1, 2019, so that you won’t miss out on any of these exciting opportunities. For those interested in getting more involved in Section Council leadership, we also invite you to go to the website and volunteer for one of our several Section committees.

If you have any questions or ideas for how the Section can provide value to you this year, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
