Kettering Foundation Announces New Vice President, Treasurer, and CFO

Jack L. Harper will serve as Vice President, Treasurer, and CFO of the Kettering Foundation. Harper has more than 27 years of public and private experience in tax law and corporate governance. In this position, Harper will oversee the foundation’s finances as well as play a role in the foundation’s work on democracy-related research. As a former Senior Director with Walmart, he was responsible for tax planning and led federal and state tax audit teams. Harper established Walmart’s Global Tax Controversy Center of Excellence. A Certified Public Accountant, Harper served as Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Tax Section. He received a Bachelor of Science in accounting from North Carolina Central University, a Master of Science in taxation from Colorado State University, and a Juris Doctorate, with honors, from North Carolina Central University School of Law.

New Associate Joins the Law Offices of Anna Smith Felts, PLLC

Charles “Charlie” Gray has joined the Law Offices of Anna Smith Felts. His areas of practice are criminal and traffic law, and he is especially interested in criminal defense. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in biological sciences from North Carolina State University, a Juris Doctorate from Campbell Law School, and a Master of Laws from Nottingham Law School.

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP Announces New Partner

Matthew S. DeAntonio is now a partner at the Charlotte office of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP. DeAntonio focuses on litigating in matters of intellectual property and complex business disputes. He represents clients in high-stakes trademark infringement cases at the trial court and on appeal and litigates complex business disputes in a variety of commercial settings. DeAntonio also leads the firm’s Franchise and Distribution Practice Group. He earned his Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina and his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

New Associates Join The Law Offices of F. Bryan Brice, Jr.

The Law Offices of F. Bryan Brice, Jr. announced that Andrea Bonvecchio and Anne Harvey have joined the firm as associate attorneys.

Andrea Bonvecchio obtained a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Florida and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida Levin College of Law with a concentration in Environmental and Land Use Law. During law school, she served as an environmental moot court team competitor and coach. Bonvecchio has prior experience as a conservation and land use intern for Conservation Florida and as a law clerk for Earthjustice.

Anne Harvey holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree from Florida State University, where she served as a teaching fellow and taught a course in environmental policy. Harvey received a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown Law. She has worked as staff attorney and acting conservation director for Save the Manatee Club and as an associate attorney with Earthjustice.

New Hires and Appointment

Ashley Coghill is now an associate attorney at Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP (CSH Law). She practices in the firm’s Wilmington office. She focuses on professional liability, admiralty & maritime, and construction law. Before joining CSH Law, Coghill practiced in civil litigation at a firm in Durham, where she worked for five years. She also was a pre-litigation support analyst. Coghill has volunteer experience providing legal services for North Carolina farmers. Coghill graduated from Campbell Law School and received a Bachelor of Arts from Appalachian State University.

Harrison Wicker is now an associate attorney with Safran Law Offices. Before he joined the firm, he was an intern with Nelson Mullins PLLC and Safran Law Offices. He also has experience working as an econometrics analyst with the North Carolina Department of Instruction. Wicker graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in economics and from Campbell Law School with a Juris Doctorate.

Poyner Spruill has named Cheslie Kryst as the firm’s first Diversity Advisor. Kryst will help to advance the firm’s diversity and inclusion development. She will work with the Diversity and Inclusion Committee on initiatives and recruiting efforts. Kryst was a member of the firm’s litigation team, and her focus was on complex civil litigation. She was selected as Miss USA 2019. Kryst earned her Bachelor of Science from the Honors College at the University of South Carolina, her MBA from Wake Forest University, and her Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Law.
