New! – A Call for Paralegal Spotlight Nominations and Blog Post Submissions

The Communications Committee has just made it easier for members to submit nominations for Paralegal Spotlight and proposed blog posts. Here’s the scoop.

Nominate a Paralegal for Paralegal Spotlight

Paralegal Spotlight is a monthly blog publication designed to inspire virtual networking by showcasing paralegal division members on the Paralegal Division blog. This is a great opportunity for members to share more about their personal and professional goals, technology tips, interests, great accomplishments, volunteer work, and the like. Our paralegal members have a wonderful variety of talents, skills, and interests, and we look forward to learning more about you!

To make the process easy, we’ve created two forms: a Paralegal Spotlight Nominations Form and a Paralegal Spotlight Questionnaire. Complete the nomination form if you are nominating another paralegal in the Division. In that case, the paralegal you nominate will be contacted to complete the questionnaire. Complete the Paralegal Spotlight Questionnaire if you are nominating yourself.

After the questionnaire is completed, you will be contacted and given an estimated date for your publication and a draft to review before it is published. You will also be given the opportunity to provide an email address for a supervisor at your place of employment if you’d like them to be notified when your blog is published.

Please keep in mind that we have designed the questionnaire to capture information from paralegals who come from various backgrounds. Paralegal experience, education, and certifications will vary from paralegal to paralegal. Therefore, some of the questions may not apply to all members. If you became a paralegal through hands-on experience and have no college degree or certifications, that is great! If you have a college degree, but no paralegal certifications, that is great, too! All paralegal contributions are important and have value. Our individual journeys inspire others.

Call for Blog Submissions

This is your Paralegal Division. We aren’t much of an association without you! We are asking those with a penchant for writing to sign up to submit a blog post. We would like to share two member-inspired blog posts each month. You can write about anything you like, as long as it is related to the paralegal field. Topics may include soft skills, words of wisdom, practice management, technology, or specific areas of law:

  • Adoption, Custody, and Parentage
  • Aeronautics and Space
  • Banking and Finance
  • Constitutional Issues
  • Crime and Law Enforcement
  • Education, Family, and Children’s Rights
  • Elections and Campaign Finance
  • Government Powers and Litigation
  • Healthcare, Safety, and Bioethics
  • Immigration, Nationality, and Citizenship
  • Indigenous and Cultural Property
  • Intellectual Property
  • Legal History, Traditions, and System
  • Marriage, Divorce, and Estates
  • Minority and Human Rights
  • Plants, Animals, and the Environment
  • Privacy Rights and Data Protection
  • Property and Land Rights
  • Taxation and Corporations
  • Travel Requirements, Visas, and Foreigners’ Rights
  • Treaties and International Agreements
  • War Crimes, Terrorism, and National Security

We also know you are busy and want to make it easy for you to participate. We have created an easy submission form for blog posts. We suggest that you draft your blog post in any word processing program and then copy and paste the content to our blog submission form when you have a final draft.

Like the Paralegal Spotlight blogs, you will be contacted and given an estimated date for your publication and a draft to review before it is published. You will also be given the opportunity to provide an email address for a supervisor at your place of employment if you’d like them to be notified when your blog is published.

If you have any questions, you can email the Communications Committee at [email protected]. Please do not email blog content directly to this email. Please use the appropriate submission form instead.

We are looking forward to a full, productive, and fantastic year of getting to know our membership. We hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you!
